MKM 2024 NatyaMahotsav Rules & Regulations

Eligibility & Acceptance Criteria

  • Participation is open to MKM members only. Every person (cast and crew) involved in the Ekankika must be an MKM member. If you are not a member yet, please click here for membership information.
  • Ekankika must be registered by the specified deadline- Sunday, Aug 11, 2024.
  • Shortlisted Ekankikas will be announced by: Sunday, Aug 25, 2024, however, the confirmed Ekankikas may be notified before or close to the announcement date.
  • MKM simply intends to facilitate the platform, and hence, to cover the facility cost, every Ekankika’s registered cast and crew member must purchase a minimum of 5 tickets.
  • The cast & crew are required of a minimum of 5 people. Only Cast and crew will be allowed in the backstage. Monoplays & Baalnatyas are not allowed at this time.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to shortlist the Ekankikas.

Registration

  • Registration form must be fully completed
  • Once the Ekankika is shortlisted, a separate form will be provided for the cast and crew.

Categories

  • Ekankika must be categorized by genre (e.g., drama, comedy, tragedy, etc)
  • Ekankika must be suitable for all age groups.

Performance Regulations

  • Duration:
    • 60 minutes (45 minutes for the play, 15 minutes for prop setup and dismantle). Given that we will have back-to-back Ekankika, we ask you to keep your prop requirements minimal.
    • The time slot for the natak will be picked by the EC team lottery system.
  • Technical Requirements:
    • Each team must engage a dedicated technical team for lighting and sound and work with the MKM official.
    • Teams are responsible for bringing their special props and costumes.
    • All the props should be cleaned up before leaving the stage.
    • Time limits will be strictly enforced.

Code of Conduct

  • Behavior:
    • All participants must exhibit respectful and professional behavior.
    • Any form of harassment or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Punctuality:
    • Teams must adhere to the schedule for performances
    • Late arrivals may forfeit their performance slot.

Safety and Compliance

  • Safety:
    • Teams must ensure the safety of all members and the audience during performances.
    • No use of hazardous materials or effects without prior approval.
  • Legal Compliance:
    • Copyrighted material must be used with proper permissions.
