Ratoofar is the official mascot of our Marathi Kala Mandal, launched in 2024, designed to embody the spirit of Maharashtra while connecting with our Marathi community in the United States. Inspired by the Indian Giant Squirrel, Maharashtra’s state animal known as “Shekru”.

Ratoofar represents our cultural roots with pride. “Ratoofar” is a creative twist on the scientific name “Ratufa Indica.” The “too far” in Ratoofar symbolizes our physical distance from our homeland, yet it also reflects how close we remain to India in our hearts.

Ratoofar is more than just a mascot; it’s a brand ambassador for our Marathi Kala Mandal, bridging the gap between our rich heritage and our lives in the USA.
