Men’s Category Rules

Elimination Rounds

• Format: Best of 1 Game
• Points: 21 Points
• Win Condition: First to 21 points

Finals

• Format: Best of 3 Games
• Points: 21 Points per game
• Win Condition: First to win 2 games

Grand Final Rule

• If a player/team reaches the final without losing any match:
  That player/team has a one-loss advantage
  Opponent must defeat them twice (Final Reset applies)

Women / Boys / Girls Rules

All Matches (Elimination Rounds)

• Format: Best of 1 Game
• Points: 11 Points

Finals

• Format: Best of 3 Games
• Points: 11 Points per game
• Win Condition: First to win 2 games

General Badminton Rules

Scoring System

• Rally scoring system (point on every rally)
• A point is scored on every serve

Service Rules

• Serve must be underhand
• Shuttle must be hit below waist level
• Serve diagonally into opponent’s service box

Doubles Service

• Each side serves alternately
• Service switches after each point

Deuce Rule

• At 20–20 (21-point games) → win by 2 (max 30)
• At 10–10 (11-point games) → win by 2

Court Switching

• Players switch sides after each game
• In final game, switch at halfway point

Faults

• Shuttle outside boundary lines
• Double hit or carry
• Net touch by player or racket
• Serve above waist or incorrect court

Time Rules

• 1-minute break between games
• 5-minute reporting time before walkover

Equipment

• Players must bring their own rackets
• Shuttlecocks will be provided by MKM

Rules & Guidelines

• All participants are expected to maintain sportsmanship and respectful behavior throughout the event
• Participants must follow instructions provided by the MKM Sports Coordinators and volunteers
• Players must be present at the venue and ready when their match is called
• Any rude behavior, misconduct, or inappropriate language may lead to immediate disqualification
• No arguments, disputes, or conflicts will be tolerated during the tournament
• All decisions regarding rules, match outcomes, player replacement, and disputes will be final and made by MKM Sports Coordinators

Attendance Policy

• Players must report on time for their matches
• If a participant does not arrive within 10–15 minutes of their scheduled match time, their spot may be given to another player

Registration, Waiver & Replacement Policy

• All participants must sign a waiver form provided by MKM and the sports facility
• The waiver will be shared before the event; participants must print, sign, and bring it on the day of the event
• No refunds will be provided once registration is completed
• Ticket transfer is allowed if you are unable to attend
• In case of absence, a replacement player may be assigned by the organizers
