Game Rules

  • Matches will be played in a rapid / blitz format.
  • Exact time control will be shared before the event.
  • Each player must complete their moves within the allotted time.
  • Standard FIDE chess rules will apply.

✅ Winning & Draw Conditions

  • A game may end in checkmate, resignation, timeout or draw.
  • Draw conditions may include stalemate, repetition or mutual agreement.
  • Illegal moves may result in penalties or loss of game based on tournament rules.

🕒 Clock & Touch-Move Rules

  • Players must use only one hand to move pieces and press the clock, if applicable.
  • Touch-move rule applies.
  • Players should avoid unnecessary delays and must follow time-control instructions.

Rules & Guidelines

  • All participants must maintain sportsmanship and respectful behavior throughout the event.
  • Participants must follow instructions provided by MKM Sports Coordinators and volunteers.
  • Players must be present at the venue and ready when their match is called.
  • Any rude behavior, misconduct, or inappropriate language may lead to immediate disqualification.
  • All decisions regarding rules, match outcomes and disputes will be final and made by MKM Sports Coordinators.
Note: Fixtures, rounds and time controls may be adjusted based on the final number of participants, venue availability and coordinator decisions.
